- The Saiga Antelope once roamed from the British Isles to Alaska during the last Ice Age, but now survives in just a few fragmented populations.
- Male saigas have striking, ridged horns used in fights for mates during the breeding season. Their highly flexible nose is an adaptation to their dusty, harsh environment. Saiga calves can run shortly after birth, aiding in their survival on the open steppe.
