Did you know?
- Despite their armored appearance, slipper lobsters are actually more closely related to spiny lobsters than to true lobsters.
- Slipper lobsters communicate by rubbing their antennae against their shells to produce sound. Unlike true lobsters, they swim backwards using rapid tail flips only when threatened. Their unique appearance has led to local nicknames like 'shovel-nosed lobster' or 'locust lobster.'
