- Spiny lobsters are capable of regenerating lost limbs, including their legs and antennae, over successive molts.
- Spiny lobsters can produce a loud screeching sound by rubbing their antennae against their exoskeletons, a behavior called stridulation. Unlike true lobsters, they lack large claws and rely on their strong, spiny antennae for defense. They often migrate in spectacular single-file processions across the ocean floor.
