- Spotted Salamanders can live for up to 20 years in the wild, making them one of the longest-lived salamander species.
- Spotted Salamander eggs have a unique symbiotic relationship with green algae, which helps provide oxygen to developing embryos. These salamanders can regenerate lost limbs, tails, and even parts of their jaws. During migration to breeding sites, hundreds may travel together on rainy nights.
