- Despite their kangaroo-like appearance and hopping locomotion, springhares are actually rodents and not marsupials.
- Springhares use their strong hind legs to perform incredible leaps when startled. They can also communicate by thumping their feet on the ground, and their burrows have multiple entrances for quick escapes.
