- Springtails are so numerous that a single square meter of soil can contain tens of thousands of individuals.
- Springtails can leap up to 100 times their body length using their furcula. Some species can survive freezing temperatures by producing antifreeze proteins. Despite their abundance, many people have never noticed them due to their small size.
