- Despite being called a 'badger,' the Sunda Stink Badger is not a true badger and belongs to a separate family more closely related to skunks.
- The Sunda Stink Badger can squirt its foul-smelling spray up to a meter away when threatened. Unlike true badgers, it is more closely related to skunks, sharing similar defensive adaptations. It is primarily nocturnal and spends most of the day in burrows or dense vegetation.
