- Tamarins have claws instead of the typical flat nails seen in most other primates, an adaptation that helps them cling to tree bark.
- Some tamarin species sport impressive mustaches or manes, such as the Emperor Tamarin. Tamarins use a wide range of vocalizations and scent markings to communicate with each other. They often give birth to twins, with all group members helping to care for the babies.
