Unlike the modern Siamese, the Thai cat preserves the traditional look and characteristics of cats depicted in ancient Thai manuscripts from centuries ago.
Thai cats are known for their melodic voices and will 'talk' to their owners with a wide variety of sounds. They are excellent climbers and often enjoy perching in high places. The breed is considered the closest living relative to the original Siamese cats of Thailand.
