- Thomson's Gazelle was named after the Scottish explorer Joseph Thomson, who first described the species in the 19th century.
- Thomson's Gazelles can reach speeds up to 80 km/h (50 mph) and use a unique bounding leap called 'stotting' to evade predators. Their keen eyesight and social behavior help them detect danger quickly. Despite their small size, they are resilient and adaptable to harsh environments.
