Did you know?
- Despite their solitary nature, Tibetan Foxes sometimes form temporary hunting partnerships with brown bears to flush out prey.
- Its famously square, disapproving face comes from a thick ruff of cheek fur, not from the skull, which is narrow. It follows Tibetan brown bears while they dig out pikas and snatches the ones that escape from the back door of the burrow. It lives higher than almost any other fox, up to 5,200 metres. Its dependence on plateau pikas means that government campaigns to poison pikas as rangeland pests threaten it directly.
