- Unlike many other small breeds, the Tibetan Spaniel was never bred as a lapdog but instead as a monastery watchdog and companion.
- Tibetan Spaniels are known for their cat-like agility and often perch on windowsills or furniture to watch over their homes. They were never bred to be lapdogs but rather as alert companions who could warn monks of approaching visitors. Their strong bond with their families makes them excellent therapy dogs.
