- Triggerfish can rotate their eyes independently, allowing them to scan for predators and prey at the same time.
- Triggerfish get their name from the 'trigger' mechanism of their dorsal fins, which they use to lock themselves into crevices for protection. Some species, like the titan triggerfish, are known for their territorial displays and can even chase away larger intruders. Their powerful teeth allow them to eat sea urchins, crustaceans, and mollusks that many other fish can't handle.
