- Despite its plant-like appearance, the Venus flytrap sea anemone is a predatory animal that uses stinging cells to immobilize its prey.
- The Venus flytrap sea anemone lives at depths exceeding 1,000 meters, where sunlight cannot reach. Its tentacles can close rapidly around prey, much like its plant namesake. Unlike most shallow-water anemones, it is adapted to survive extreme pressure and cold in the deep sea.
