- Despite their vulture-like appearance, Vulturine Guineafowl are not related to vultures at all; their bald head helps keep them cool in hot savanna climates.
- Unlike other guineafowl species, Vulturine Guineafowl have long, elegant neck feathers that form a cape-like appearance. They are expert runners and prefer fleeing from danger on foot rather than flying. Their complex social structures can involve groups of up to 25 or more individuals.
