- Water Scorpions can survive out of water for short periods and sometimes fly to new locations in search of better habitats.
- Despite their intimidating appearance, Water Scorpions are harmless to humans. Their 'tail' is not a stinger, but a breathing siphon. They capture and feed on aquatic invertebrates and even small tadpoles using their piercing mouthparts.
