- Despite their name, Western Chorus Frogs are actually found across much of central and eastern North America, not just the western regions.
- Western Chorus Frogs can survive brief periods of freezing temperatures by producing glucose that acts as a natural antifreeze. Their chorus calls can be heard from great distances, especially during the breeding season. Unlike many other frogs, they are often more easily heard than seen due to their small size and excellent camouflage.
