- Despite being a cuckoo, the White-browed Coucal does not practice brood parasitism and raises its own chicks.
- White-browed Coucals build their nests low in dense shrubs to avoid predators. Unlike many other cuckoos, they do not lay eggs in other birds' nests but instead care for their own young. Their bubbling call is often used as a signature sound in African films and documentaries.
