- Unlike parrots, turacos have semi-zygodactylous feet, allowing them to run and hop adeptly along branches.
- White-cheeked Turacos have a unique green pigment called turacoverdin, unlike most birds whose green color comes from structural coloration. They are highly social and often seen moving in small family groups, communicating with a variety of calls.
