- Unlike many other jays, White-throated Magpie-jays are known to raid nests of other birds, feeding on eggs and nestlings as part of their omnivorous diet.
- White-throated Magpie-jays have a prominent crest of feathers that they can raise or lower, giving them a dramatic appearance. They often live in groups with complex social structures, where females may help each other raise young. These jays are highly vocal, capable of mimicking other birds and even some human sounds.
