Did you know?
- Despite their stocky appearance, wolverines can climb trees and swim, making them surprisingly agile hunters.
- Wolverines are known to travel up to 24 kilometers (15 miles) in a single day in search of food, showcasing their incredible stamina. Despite their fearsome reputation, wolverines are opportunistic feeders and will often scavenge carrion left by wolves or bears. The wolverine's scientific name, 'Gulo,' means 'glutton' in Latin, reflecting its voracious feeding habits. Contrary to popular belief, wolverines are not related to wolves; their closest relatives are actually otters and weasels.
