- Yellow-headed Geckos can often thrive in urban environments and may be found living on the walls of buildings in their native range.
- Male Yellow-headed Geckos have vividly colored heads used for attracting mates and warding off rivals. They exhibit tail autotomy, meaning they can shed their tail to escape predators, which later regenerates. Unlike many geckos, they are active during the day (diurnal) rather than at night.
